Joe Colborne's kicked off his professional hockey career with a two assist effort against the Worcester Sharks on Friday night. Both assists were on the power play.
Colborne then played on Saturday and Sunday for Providence and did not record any points.

who cares
Apparently you cared enough to post.
not really
Then why did you come back for more?
more what?
Who cares? I care about the pro careers of all former Pioneers and hope that they do well. It's good for the program. Also, how could you not "care" about a former Pioneer? We watch them every weekend during their tenure at DU and I can't help but form some sort of emotional connection that makes me care. Sounds kinda lame, but seriously, don't you get more excited and happy when Stats scores a goal as opposed to Hejduk or someboy else on the Avs?
If you're just bitter about Joe leaving, get over it. You can disagree with his decision to go pro, but you can't expect him to put to put the interests of DU above that of his own.
not bitter at all. glad to see him go. same with Wierd-coch.
They would have both been at least all WCHA second team players next year. They might not be your favorite players, but you can't seriously believe that DU is better off without them than with them. You have to admit, they could at least add value as reserves next year in case anyone gets injured.
"you can't expect him to put the interests of DU above that of his own". i think that's the problem.
You're living in a fantasy world if you don't think that every individual has their own interests separate from whatever organization they belong to. It's not a problem as long as players are committed to DU while they are here.
If you have a job where you currently make $50k a year would you turn down an offer for $1 million a year for the good of the organization you're currently at? No. Does that make you a bad employee? No.
The only instance where a majority of humans are genuinely selfless is when it comes to their own children.
I wouldn't write CC's Hockey Blog for a million bucks a year. So children and hockey blogs are the only two truly selfless things. :-)
I wasn't aware Colborne and Wierdcoch were being paid while they were playing for DU. Committed? Don't make me laugh. These guys were just passing through. No heart.
