Next season, the University of Denver's first home series at Magness Arena will be against Boston College, who won the National Championship last night 5-0. In fact DU's first eight games are going to be against teams that made the NCAA Tournament this season. Four of the eight games are going to be against teams that played in the Championship game last night.

The USA Under-18 Team defeated Slovakia in an exhibition game on Saturday. DU recruit Nick Shore had an assist on the first goal of the game. The US opens the Tournament in Belarus on Tuesday against Sweden.

The Edmonton Journal has an article about the Edmonton Oilers and their #1 overall pick. The writer suggests that DU recruit Beau Bennet would be a good choice for the Oilers with their first pick in the second round (#31 pick overall).

With BC winning the National Title last night 5-0 over Wisconsin, Jerry York now has four national championships to his credit, three at Boston College (2001, 2008, and 2010) and one at Bowling Green (1984). Only two coaches in NCAA Division I hockey history have more - Michigan’s Vic Heyliger, who won six from 1948-56, and Denver’s Murray Armstrong, who won five from 1958-69.

Stick-e-Star, a popular DU area bar/restaurant, closed its doors permanently last week after three and a half years in business. Stick-e-Star was one of the better pre & post game locations for DU hockey fans because of its location.
