The guy has been an assistant coach since before most of his current players were even born.

Surely, he deserves to get a shot as a head coach.

I hope he gets the gig in Green Bay.

If he does get it, my candidates for assistant coach would be:

1) Mark Rycroft - DU Grad ,NHL experience, personality would be great in the living room of recruits.

2) Matt Laatsch - Former Pioneer Captain of an NC team, and experience as an AHL assistant and scout.

3) Mike Guentzel : Because he's working his way around the WCHA as an assistant, and hasn't stopped here yet.

Guentzel just took an assistant coaching job at UNO.

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but when DU promoted Miller this offseason to associate head coach, they promoted a women's basketball coach to a similar position the same week. Probably some sort of Title IX quid pro quo. Now Miller may leave...whoops.

Crap (selfish feeling). I'd hate to see him leave, but Miller is more than deserving and has given more to DU as an assistant than anyone could have hoped for.

I feel the same way as 9:48. Still, I think this is some kind of a subliminal sign for Coach Carle. I think Dave is headed for very big things one day - perhaps both HERE at DU and beyond. Whether that's scouting, coaching, front office or whatever..... Steve & Dave are no different than Rico, Appert & Greseth or anyone else Gwozdecky has propelled over the years

I would say things are a little f'd up in the DU program about now. Egomaniacs are not easy to work for.

7:19....did you come up with that statement on your own or did your mom help? Go back to playing grab ass on the playground.

Miller has been with Gwozdecky as an assistant for almost 20 years. If Gwoz were that hard to work for, Miller would have been gone a long time ago. Miller has been a loyal and hard working guy for many years and deserves a chance. All assistant coaches want to be head coaches someday, and it's the head coach's job to prepare them for the day they leave to be head coaches.
