Crimson and Gold, a new bar and restaurant targeted for south University Boulevard, has won permission to sell booze with its burgers.

Owners of the new restaurant at 2017 S. University Blvd. reached an agreement with the University of Denver that cleared away DU’s opposition to liquor and music licenses at the site and smoothed the way for the city of Denver to grant approval, which it did Tuesday.

“We’re pretty excited,” says co-owner Kevin Caldwell. “It’s been a long time coming.”

Caldwell and his brother, Craig Caldwell, leased the former Aroma Café and Hookah Bar space just south of the Conoco station in December 2009. This will be my pre game burger and beer place for the first game. Based on how that goes it could continue. It beats those over priced beer and dogs in Magness.

I heard they are going to have a new beer on tap. It's called "crying in my beer", it's going to be on special after all home games. It going to have a real bitter aftertaste, kinda like what the new recruits will experience after their first season as a pioneer.

Oh, one more thing about the new beer.....last year it was called "High HOPes". Sales started very strong, but flamed out miserably in the spring. Eventually, it was derailed by UNDerachievment, WIShfull thinking and a RITualistic lack of effort.

This is good news for the North Dakota team and fans; those knucklefux can now just walk over there and not even use the bus. See, last time they were here & asked the bus driver to take them somewhere for drinks after they got thier asses humiliated, the driver said NO... because he was busy SWEEPING the bus.
