Lethbridge Defeats DU 5-2

“One of the reasons we play two exhibition games is to experience two back-to-back games like we do during the season, and I think we learned a very valuable lesson tonight that if you’re not ready to play, you are going to misfire,”
Coach Gwozdecky - USCHO.com

Glad they lost one right off the bat this year....they will build off of their mistakes they made from a solid Canadian team. They didn't really play all that bad so I know it will be a good year if they don't get too cocky after big wins.

Many things to work on after tonights lackluster effort.

Very lackluster and lazy but I'd rather them learn humility right now. It's time that DU sucks it up and learns from their mistakes because the first part of their schedule will be one hell of a ride.

Hey, I was there. Take nothing from the game. The D.U. players were half asleep. The result is meaninless.

I'm not sure it will be a hell of a ride right away. Vermont lost to a CIS team tonight too.

Ugly game tonight. DU was not very sharp in any area. Brittain struggled, although on one or two of those goals he didn't get much help. He looked nervous during parts of the game, but hopefully he learns from the experience.

The Pios looked out of sync during stretches-- passes were off, the transition game wasn't very crisp, and guys were trying to do too much. DU had some good looks but either couldn't finish around the net or missed the net altogether. Their goalie had several nice saves. Tough game to watch.

Give Lethbridge credit --they came to play and were ready.

When is the last time DU lost an exhibition game? Hopefully they learn from this and learn quickly.

The atrocious first-game jitters goaltending from Brittain really sapped the team's confidence. Everytime DU generated some offensive pressure, Brittain would cough one up on the other end. That kind of night...

On the offensive end, the Pioneers got good looks but did not shoot very well, and others were not working as hard as they need to.

Chambers with a great call! DU is in mid-season form! What a bush league reporter for a bush league team....DU will be .500 this year

Don't you assholes know this is pre-season? When's the last time Steve Cook played a game? He probably had more ice time than he's ever had, tonight. Look at Zuck - hattrick hero last night, and nothing but a penalty tonight. The Coaches were mixing it up & seeing who's who and what's what. Quit reading too much into this - or else it's going to be a LONG LONG season. Good for Big Sam to get his nose bloodied. In a regular game, they would have pulled him. He's worked with Coach Derek Lalonde for about 3 hours..... please..... give it time.

Lethbridge is for real

Right...real enough to put a total of 4 shots on goal against CC in the first two periods on Saturday (11 for the entire game). CC's freshman goalie had no trouble with them.

Well there is something to hang your hat on! Maybe another participation banner in the CSWA noting the accomplishment?

Lethbridge's coach said his team didn't handle the big ice at CC very well as Canadian schools don't play on Olympic sized rinks.

When they got the NHL sized sheet at DU, he said they played much better,

Swami's right the size of the ice sheet flipped everything around. It was the difference between getting pounded in the ass and pounding others in the ass... LOL
Let’s be real – I’ll give you bad goal tending but I’m not gonna here that stuff buddy.

Excuses are like A-holes... and lots of them are right here commenting.

Oh! DU is the best...

Oh! DU is the worst...

Pick a bandwagon and stay on it you so-called fans. That way the rest of us hockey fans can point and laugh at you since we understand the ups and downs that go along with the sport, especially at the collegiate level.
