Major Jr has and always will get the top tier talent. It makes sense.

So who would win in a best of 7 series.....the best major junior team or the best NCAA team?

Got to go Major Junior on this one. Wouldn't be very close, either.

No way. The NCAA Champion hockey team would almost always beat a the Memorial Cup junior team in a seven game series because the college players are older (18-24) bigger, stronger and more experiences than the MJ players (16-20), even if the talent levels are similar.

In a one game playoff, the MJ team would have a chance to win, but in a series, the NCAA team would win 9 times out of 10.

Major Juniors is more likely on par with the USHL than NCAA hockey. Thats not to say that a occasional Memorial Cup team with say a Sidney Crosby couldn't upset an NCAA Champion. Perhaps they could, hockey is a game where emotion and hard work can beat talent.

DU defeated the USA Under-18 team 8-1 during the preseason, with no official practices or games under their belt.

In the past some USHL teams have played major junior teams in preseason tourneys. Its more likely that a seven game series between the MJ champion and the USHL champion would be competitive.

The USHL, USA hockey and NCAA hockey has come a long way in the past decade. Look at the talent on DU's roster in 2010 vs. 2000. Donovan, Zucker, Bennett, Brittain, both Shores and Makowski are world-class players. Not only will these guys likely play in the NHL, but have legitimate shots at making future US or Canadian Olympic teams.
