Boozing SCSU Players Turn Vans Into Beer Trucks

(above) Hide the women & children, the St. Cloud State hockey team is coming to town

It turns out that the St. Cloud University hockey players purchased large quantities of beer on the night of their famous victory over the University of Miami down in Florida over Christmas break.

The Naples News Blog has all the juicy details.

"Following the tournament's championship game, I finished my work and was headed home. I stopped for gas at the new Race Trac gas station near the intersection of Daniels and I-75. Also there were three 15-passenger vans carrying the entire St. Cloud State hockey team.

As I filled my car up with gas, I watched player after player leave the store with beer and get into the vans. I figured the team was celebrating the tournament victory, but I also wondered how team officials, who were driving the vans, could allow players to buy large amounts of beer and bring them on the team van."

Of course as we now know Bad Boyz Tony Mossey and Chris Hepp were kicked off the team due to an incident later that night and star Sophomore David Eddy was suspended. There has been speculation that Eddy was the player that required medical attention later that evening.

The St. Cloud Times confirmed that a SCSU player was admitted to a local Emergency Room that evening. In the same article the school president even jumped into the act and blasted the team's resident Bad Boyz, Hepp & Mosey.

Sounds like all the details didn't make it back to St. Cloud, Minnesota and some players were thrown under the bus....er.....beer van.

Ruh Roh.

This is not good.

Team vans suggest team officials knew about it, unless eomone else was driving the vans...

Of course the SCSU Athletic Department will have the car rental agreements that will have the van drivers info on the car rental agreements.

Sounds like Freedom of Information Act time for interested media types.

You can Say CoverS Up without SCSU

Looks like the SCSU president now has to deal with the SCSU coaches, too, unless the coaches/officials weren't in the vans when they players were buying the beer...Either way, the coaches are going to see some heat. I doubt players are allowed to drive the vans.

Any former DU's in the all-star game? Oh, thats right, you acutally have to have alumni in the NHL to be in the All-Star Game.

Thank God there are still college students out there that still like to party.

Partying is fine.

Getting kicked off your college team, losing your scholarship and not graduating because of partying is kinda stupid.

Partying and ending up in an Emergency Room isn't too smart either.

Sounds like those two players did get tossed under the bus because it is very apparent that lots of players were drinking. All that happened is those two were with someone that drank too much.

23 year olds drinking beer. Oh - my - god!

Glad I've never seen the DU team drink beer after a Saturday night game. Oh wait, I have. And didn't they drink champagne after winning the National Championship? Their parents should be ashamed.
