UNO 5 - DU 2 FINAL

The University of Denver came up short on Friday night in Omaha losing 5-2 to UNO. Two short handed goals by the Mavericks and DU's inability to score on the power play was the difference.

DU tied the game with 15 minutes remaining, but were unable to hang on.

3 freshies and 2 sophies on the top two lines? Good luck with that down the stretch.

These kid's deserve a coach that knows how to communicate & motivate.
What they have is a coach that likes to humiliate. There is an "I" in this team named George!

DU started four Freshman in the 2005 National Championship game against North Dakota. Stastny, Thomas, Dingle and Mannino were on the ice at the opening faceoff so clearly that is not the issue.

Somehow DU still controls their destiny for 2nd place but tonight is a must win game. Will be tough, but they need to dig deep and earn a split.

Gwozdecky is the best coach in college hockey. Period. End of story.

DU needs someone to step up.

Ostrow's loss has been devastating.

Poor goaltending is also killing the Pioneers in the stretch.

Gwoz needs to find a way to stop the bleeding...

Tons of red flags all over the place. Our transition game has been slowly diminishing, 4 short handed goals against in 2 weekends, goaltending has been sloppy... things aren't looking so well going into the post season right now. I don't know what the hell is going on but they need to get their heads out of their ass and realize, now is not the time for complicated plays or mistakes. Our inexperience is really starting to show.

19 and 14 would sure be nice right about now.

That picture is actually the soft goal number two for UNO. Look how far he is off of his post. zzzzzzzzzzzz WAKE UP!

Just comparing the rosters I would
have to agree the better coach won last night. Hope GG can redeem himself tonight with a much needed victory!

Venture over to USCHO ladies, CC and UND fans are trying to cheer us up.

This team has what it takes and will at least get past the first round in the NCAAs. Bet the farm.

If you disagree, at least keep your crying to your mom's basement so you don't keep embarrassing us all.

Your optimism is great, but DU needs to start proving it on the ice.

Starting four Freshman vs. relying on Freshman and Sophomores for all your scoring are clearly two different subjects. Dg, take of your crimson and gold glasses and face reality.

This team has zero depth, lacks upperclassman leadership, and now, has goaltending issues.

Lower your expectations. This team in NOT a National Championship contender. Period. End of story.

Gwoz best coach-can develop great players. Freshman stepping up and are improving. It was supposed to be a building year anyway. So those that like to criticize-you ever played or coached at this level?. You don't have a clue.
This coaching staff the best.

before all of ypou give up on our lads ,think back to the 04 team. They were about 10 or 12 on the PWR and barely made it into the NCAA tournament. They didn't even make it to Minn.for thw WCHA tournament. Hang in there. We get a hot goalie like Berkhel(SP?)and all things are doable. There is loads of talent on this team.

Can J-Mart come out & say a few words tonight during a timeout??

Don't have a clue about coaching? Ha! Swami has coached and won a title at every level, from pee wee to winning the Stanley Cup.

AH HAH! Weakness uncovered!! So.. Swami couldn't get it done at the all-important Mite level, huh?? LOL

DG, I like your Gwoz optimism, but he's not the best coach in college hockey. That title belongs to Jerry York over at BC. No question.
