Over 27 "comments" on the Westword article. Clearly Metro State administrators have sent out the memo.
Should be an interesting battle this summer.
Metro will win. Bank it. It isn't a battle, if it's already lost.
I mean, really, there are faaaaaarrr more Metro alumni in Denver. That's just the reality.
An education is how you use it, not what institution you received it from. If you are an idiot, going to DU will not change that, nor if you are smart Metro will not change that.
In other words, paying big money can't fix stupid... :-)
You guys can't even reinstate your mascot with all this blog power - do you really think you can move Colorado politics? Terrance Carroll (look him up) is on the Board of Trustees at Metro now, he basically IS Colorado politics.
DU undergraduate population is 5k a year, Metro's 25k - you really should get out more and get some perspective on the matter. Stick with hockey, leave the politics to others.

Metro has changed their name FIVE times. New stationary, new signs, hiring branding companies. What do you care? Just pass it along to the taxpayers
A scumbag from texas (of all places) is trying to dictate COLORADO politics? This is great! There's a reason no one from COLORADO has ever willingly moved to texas -- too many scumbags and too much poverty (texas is top 10 for poverty). Also too many steers and queers (not gay -- we support gays up here -- rather just plain weirdos)...
Kinda reminds me of that aussie murdoch and his faux news trying to dictate AMERICAN politics -- worry about shit where you live and let the citizens of COLORADO decide what's best for OUR colleges and universities. Its not like it's your texan taxes which support this COLORADO school.

You're right, once this goes through people will have no problem differentiating between University of Denver and Denver State. Trust me, I don't think we will have to worry about people confusing DU with Metro.... We'll stick to hockey and academics, you can stick to . . . well, whatever you do.
You would think DU would be more worried about Big Ten hockey forming?
DU has a Napoleon complex when it comes to Metro's name change.
