The 2011 DU Student Season Ticket Campout got off to a rousing start on Friday evening in front of Magness Arena. Never before had so many students arrived this early to secure tickets for the upcoming hockey season.
Students started showed up starting at 10 AM on Thursday morning.

Reports are trickling in, but it appears that the students were so rowdy, the event was "shut down."
According to eyewitnesses, there were huge crowds on Friday night. People were incredibly rowdy and DJ's had been hired to play all night long. But it didn't take long for DU's campus police to jump into action after receiving noise complaints from neighborhood cranks across the street.
Boone was spied at the campout building school spirit.
Three lucky DU students won free season tickets for having school spirit themed tents and/or clothing.

Updates? What happened???
Damn jackbooted thugs!
Just posted the update from students who attended the event.
Important to note that this is DU's largest Freshman class ever and I guess they don't plan on taking crap from anyone.
Lets hope that Magness is so loud this season the neigherhood cranks can't sleep at night.

When you buy a condo but ass up against a college arena you should expect these occasional happenings. It's like buying a condo right next to trai tracks or lined up with an airplane runway and then complaining about the noise.
Screw those townies! They probably went to Metro State...
Yeah, only a scumbag would go to metro state
Larkin Jacobsen may need some extra tutoring. In his rendition of the fight song he only got 2 words right--Denver and Rah Rah Rah,:-D
Another cherished DU tradition. No fun. No way. No time. Not here. "Wanted, candidates for camput security police. No experience needed. No respect for the university needed. No respect for the students needed. No people skills needed. Fired Alabama sheriff's deputies get priority."
This can be fixed. The friday night campout has become D.U. tradition and you don't f--- with tradition.
Change the tent site to the west area. Open up the soccer field for tents. Tell the non rentals on Asbury what to expect noise wise and ask their understanding. Free Boone burger at the C.& G. or similar to appease them.
If the assholes in the Buchtell condo still complain ignore them.
Was there since Friday and never did we see security doing anything about it...sounds like a rumor to me.
oioops! i think it's high st.
Security coming and bitching happens every year.
oiooops, aluuum did it again!
Hard to type with a beer in each hand?
Oh man...that video was brutal. It's a safe bet, that Larkin and Danny will be leading Zack, Scott and the rest of the Freshmen singing the fight song in the gate area at both Boston Logan and DIA the 3rd week in October.
