The Denver Post has the latest info on the injury situation with forward Beau Bennett and goaltender Adam Murray. Still no word on what type of injury Murray sustained.
I'd like to know more about the team(s) Juho played for previously, which triggered his NCAA suspension. I sorta think this guy has more experience and competition under his belt than we're led to believe; and if that were true, right now would be a good time to rely on that experience. This is also when those previous years of recruiting are paying dividends - we have a really big defensive group playing in front of our goalies now - thanks to Steve Miller.
With UMD's ranking, DU's hard practice week and bad taste of last weekend - I predict the Pios come out kickin it. Denver sweep.
Apparently Olki came out to the US a few years ago and played midgets in......UTAH..... then went back to Finland, then came back to the US last season
Obviously, his time in Utah wasn't what caused his minor eligibility issue... :-)
Juho turns 21 on Friday night (11/4/2011). Might be a good opportunity for the student section to sing Happy Birthday during the 2nd period if he's playing.
Believe it or not he's actually 4 1/2 months older than Adam Murray. Last DU goaltender who turned 21 during his Freshman season was Peter Mannino.
Best article about the Plying Finn was in the DU Clarion:
Ok, ok. Its still the first month of the season. Even when they won national championship a few years back, they suffered losses at the beginning of the season. I would rather lose when it doesnt matter than watch them lose in March like they have the past few years. The team will get better and healthier and play fine. Let me steal a phrase from "Eastbound and Down" - Tampa Bitches!
If you run into the goalie, how is that not a penalty? I understand that if the puck went in first, the goal may still count but shouldn't there still have been a penalty afterward?
Chambers has a further update, Murray and the Flying Finn will both play this weekend. Knowlton is out of "Chateaux Bow Wow" and will play. Bennett's wrist is healed but weak. He will be a game day decision.

Did Murray get hurt when Tech ran the goalie?
Yeah. While at the same time as giving up his 3rd goal on 6 shots in just over 10 minutes.
Lets focus on the positive; he made three saves before he was injured.
You guys are dicks. Make constructive comments/critiques of Murray's play rather than throwing out childish cheap shots and smartass comments.
re: murray...positive comment: he is excellent on the pine...loads of experience.
re: bennett...he's featured in HF's update on college prospects, along with mayfield, zucker, shore...well, there's bennett... ;-)
As the Great Puck Swami used to say, "The fans can get a little salty after a few loses."
Lets hope Murray recovers ASAP, but it looks like the Flying Finn gets another shot on Friday night.
If the plying finn gets hurt it will be Rudy time!
the Plying finn, huh?
Aluuum is more on top of his game than Murray
A 1 point weekend in Houghton can make even the best of us a little grumpy...then you add in some a-hole tech fans and hell breaks loose

Garrett Allen has started play again in the USHL.

That's it! from now in he's known in perpetuity as the Plying Finn!
I assume the Clarion is wrong when they printed the following:
While last year's starting goalie Sam Brittain will miss the entire 2011-2012 season due to a torn ACL, which he suffered over the summer,

Did a DU player push a Tech player into Adam?
"Did a DU player push a Tech player into Adam?"
Didn't appear that way. However, believe it or not, tech's video sucked maybe even worse than their worthless fans.
Anon said.... "If you run into the goalie, how is that not a penalty?"
So I take it that you did not see the game Official's names.
The league brass, the best of the best, was working that series - thank you Shepherd family for your contributions to our great sport.
