This should be a very interesting game to see where this DU team is vs the country's top mid-major programs.

Having seen DU twice this year, they are much deeper, quicker and more versatile and more entertaining team than last year.

Beating St. Mary's would be an upset for DU - but the Pios are tough at home.

It’s not like Scott has a record that’s as good as Kuwata. If DU's goal is to win on a national level in every sport it plays, it should dump Scott for a higher profile coach.

St. Mary's "national powerhouse"??? By what standard? They are at best a good lower mid-major program. Nothing even remotely close to a national powerhouse. National Powerhouse = Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc.

St Mary's is a top 40 program right now and went to the Sweet 16 not long ago. They are a mid major powerhouse.

And Scott is in year 5 of his DU career and is under far more pressure than Kuwata ever was. Kuwata had 16 years of mediocre finishes before moving on.

I'd say Scott has 1-2 years more to build the DU program to NCAA tourney level program, or he'll be out. They won't tolerate 16 years of no NCAA appearances.

DU pulls the huge upset 70-58... now 4-0! Dare we dream?

Fantastic effort by the Pios, who led pretty much wire to wire. Only 6 turnovers against a quality St, Mary's team. DU played smart;

There were 5,000 in the house, 3500 of them kids under the rising star program.

Pios looked really good tonight. Shot 50% on three pointers. SMC had 5 Aussies on it's roster, and had one of the best players in college basketball in Matthew Dellavedova from the Australian National Team.

Pioneers will certainly break into the mid-major top 25 with this win.

If they could upset Cal this Saturday, it would be the first win over a ranked team in a very long time...

DU once upset Marquette in the 60s...

Weird Stat of the season:

2011 DU Hockey Average Home Attendance; 5409

2011 DU Basketball Average Home Attendance: 5683

That's not a misprint. However, most of the hoops attendees are children, on promotional tickets. And the no-show rate in basketball seems far higher. And hockey tickets cost a lot more But DU basketball is drawing more people than it used to...

Hey Weird Stat very misleading comment
