Denver police and campus security are working to try to nab a mascot thought to be responsible for a string of sexual assaults near the University of Denver this academic year.
There have been at least four assaults in which a mascot has tried to fondle women who were either walking or jogging alone on South High Street.
Police released a composite sketch of the mascot [above] who groped a woman at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.
The victim reported she was walking south in the 2000 block of South High Street when she passed a mascot who was heading north.
The woman heard the pitter-patter of paws running behind her. She turned around to see the mascot she had just passed grabbing her buttocks.
She yelled at the mascot, and he ran toward the intersection of East Asbury Avenue and South High Street.
The frequency of the attacks is causing unease for DU students — particularly women. It is believed that a string of recent football loses at the University of Minnesota is causing the abnormal behavior.
Police said the victim described the suspect as being a gopher approximately 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a charcoal-gray hooded sweatshirt with black stripes down the arms

And secondly - calling buttocks grabbing/fondling/groping sexual assault is an insult to those women who have suffered and been violated by serious sexual assaults, such as rape.
This groper dude is clearly annoying and creepy as hell, but this stuff doesn't deserve the media coverage or generating extra 'fear' on the part of female DU students.
I'd recommend you take your sniveling PC complaints to Dianne Murphy, she's the goddess. After all, she took offense at the use of the word "pussy" by the hockey club. The application of that word here seems more than appropriate.

After 60 years of mostly good things delivered to Penn State and college sports by Paterno, all Old Pio was doing was questioning the speed of the lynch mob based on incomplete examination of the facts. He was not questioning the vailidity of the allegations and the cover up. Despite our quick conviction Paterno (et al) in the court of public opinion, we should all still believe the due process of our court system and the presumption of iinocence until proven guilty.
Paterno is out now, the victim of his old age and his outdated attitudes and flawed priorities.
But in the passage of time, we'll someday see Paterno in the fullness of his contibutions as well as the horrible way his career ended.
Like Richard Nixon, Paterno made a career ending misktake - the cover up is worse than the crime.
This dude has taken the good 'ol game of grab-ass to a pretty weird level.
