Bad Boyz: UNO Forward Booted From Team

From: WOWT.com

In a brief statement, University of Nebraska-Omaha hockey head coach Dean Blais announced that senior center Alex Hudson has been dismissed from the team.

Blais says he made the decision after Hudson committed a second violation of team rules this season. He offered no other details.

Hudson had 4 goals and 6 assists in 16 games and had previously been suspended for four games.

I won't lose any sleep about this after his dirty hit on one of our players earlier this year (I can't remember who it was)

I watched him play DU and he obviously comes from the Hakstol school of goon hockey. Glad to see coaches step up.

He was on a mission to hurt someone in the games we played against them. On a totally different subjects I think it should be mentioned that our youngest recruit Trevor Moore is tearing it up in the USHL. Anyone know where he stands (stat wise) compaired to other 95's in the USHL?

Californian Trevor Moore [5'8 160 lbs] has 8 goals & 7 assists in 21 games. He must be up there among players born in 1995.

He was also the 8th overall pick in last years USHL Draft.

Hudson got a major for charging in the Friday nite game. The game thread said he cheap shotted Knowlton near the end of the 3rd.
Think there were a few questionable non-calls with him too.

I thought Hudson was more or less a punk on the ice when I saw him against DU this season. He was taking runs at everyone. I was hoping Ryder would flatten him at some point during the weekend.

Why is it okay for Ryder to take a run at Hudson but not for Hudson to take a run at a DU player? Seems like the same thing to me. If you’re saying Hudson was a dirty player, are you saying that you want Ryder to play dirty as well?

Ryder lays people out legally. Big difference to some punk taking a charge at a player and finishing with head contact.

No one is allowed to hit DU players all their fans cry. They think it should be a no contact sport like soccer.

I thought he was from the Gwoz/Paukovich School of Goonery

Anon 11:52,

I never classified Hudson as dirty. Not sure where you came up with that. I said he was taking runs at everyone. A couple of his hits were borderline, and in fact, he was penalized over the weekend. A guy like Ryder, who can knock people down legally and within the rules because of his explosiveness and strength, can keep a guy like Hudson honest. That's the point. I'm not talking about dirty play.

Plus, who wouldn't want to live in Grand Forks? I'll repeat what Frank Serratore told me: as a UND assistant, they tried very hard not to bring the recruits in during the day.

Heck, in the winter, there is only about 6 hours of daylight! If Hakstol turns sideways, you can see the light shine through.

2 championships in 42 years. 2 frozen four appearances in 25 years. Wow, it's great to be a DU

I'd say Hudson plays dirty even if Twister is afraid to say it and Jackson was afraid to do anything about it.

The jealousy that sue fans attained in '04 and '05 is rampant
