DU vs the Sioux on Saturday night. Could it get any better than this for this weekend! Go DU!

Gophers gave up a 3-0 lead to lose 6-3 ... DU better be ready, the Suzies scored in bunches.

See... this is why North Dakota is DU's main rival. We play each other for championships and there is a bitter hate for one another.

Sioux, Shower and Shave before the game. Can't believe Minny crapped the bed that bad. Pioux fans will be in their element wearing green on St. Patty's day. Let's spoil their day!

axhsdu17 is right. on looking forward to the NCHA. Might be better than DU-CC going forward. Its going to be tough to deny them their 3rd straight, but this team thrives on adversity. Love it. Most interesting DU team since 2005.

'kay ... I'll get it started ...

Start the Land Shark on Saturday. He's a little more older, might hold up better against the Goons when they start slamming him into the net. And Great Brittain has EARNED the rest and is still coming off an injury. You start Brittain in the NCAA to show our confidence. Both Brittain and the Land Shark are super strong. Sorry to say it, but the window may have closed on Murray, I don't know he ever caught up to the speed of NCAA hockey.

Suzies showed remarkable gumption tonight. They have swagger. Something we don't seem to have. We have grit, they have swagger. We need to score early, force them into penalties, make them make mistakes and keep them off our netminder.

Should be an interesting day tomorrow. Wife is a UND grad, and brother-iin-law played for the Sioux. His Jr season we knocked them off at world Arena and won a NC. His SR year we beat them in the NC game. Needless to say, he's not a big fan of my belived Pios. This team is starting to remind me of the '04 squad. Started off being described as underachieving, now being called gutsy, courageous, and a character squad. Please win tomorrow DU, I really want to gloat around the dinner table at the in-laws!!!!!!

This is just like last year in the NCAAs. The OT with Western Michigan killed us after the first 30 minutes when we ran out of gas vs UND and they smoked us 6-1.

DU will need to be very economical and play very smart to have a chance at keeping it close.

Frankly, I don't much care about tomorrow and who wins. This tourney has already cost us Paul Philips for the rest of the season, and we're probably down to 5 dmen for the rest of the playoffs. This tournnament is brutal on rosters when everyone is already tired.

NCHC Championship indeed! We don't need no stinking Badgers and the Gophers are now....gofers. I am wearing my Jesse Martin sweater tomorrow as we take down the pond scum Suzies. GO PIONEERS!!!

Hey Western Michigan Anonymous OT - Are you always this positive?

Well there is one good thing that comes out of und winning, we dont have to listen to the FSN announcers cream thier shorts about the gophers. They hate each team equally!

Screw St. Patrick's Day...I'm sporting my Crimson and Gold instead of green.

I pray we have this same situation next March. The 2 best WCHA teams playing for the league championship, then both leaving the league like 3 weeks later. Way to snub the league brass!! "OK Lake State......it's all yours" lol

Don't forget to wear GREEN today you PioQueers.

Wow. Hey Tim! You can't win for lose can you? Funny how first we don't want North Dakota fans around here - but hell - now, we don't even want Tim Tebow here! You think Peyton is wearing green today?? LOL
THIS IS DENVER'S DAY.

Our boys will be facing about 12-15,000 drunken Sioux fans on St. Patrick's day in St. Paul.

Our boys have played 5 games in 8 days, the last three of them in OT, and yesterday in double OT.

We are down to 5 defensemen, and those guys were all gassed yesterday.

If DU could win tonight, it would be a performance for the ages. If they don't win, I am cool. The real tourney starts next week.

DU is the 'home' team in St. Paul.

We get last line change,

They get thousands more fans,

No matter what the outcome is tonight, this team has proved that it has a ton of character. Don't get me wrong, I would love to take it to the Sue.

They have fought back through injuries and heartbreaking losses.
I can't wait for the "big dance".

We are in for another night of goon hockey!

Anon @ 8:40 = OK, will watch the head butting; but you may want to remind Lame-a-roo that when the ref blows the whistle - that means stop playing hockey. Oh - and spread the word to your homies MacWilliam & Parks that they ain't supposed to deliver checks to the helmet, eh? Morons. No Broadmoore for you!

Absolutely love the blog title. All NCHC, baby!

NCHC > BTHC. Future NCHC teams received a lot of shit this year because many of the schools struggled early on in the season. Don't see any trash talking shit now!

The future is bright and we got some entertaining times ahead when the NCHC begins league play.

Just too bad we didn't take Tech instead of CC. Not only would we get a better team currently, but also one with a much prouder history of success. And, we'd get to keep the MacNaughton and not have to listen to the Techies constantly bitch (i understand their bitching but it gets really old).

Just for the "who cares if we win crowd":

Winning this evening means probably the #4 or #5 overall seed, with the #3 seed a possibility. Losing today means probably being the #11 or #12 overall seed. Winning today is huge.

Tonight will be a good test; or should I say hands on training, for the freshman who haven't been in this college playoff atmosphere. pretty much what they can expect at the regional and in Florida. Watch Mayfield for instance; see how he does with the emotions. Might be a big indication of where he is as an overall player and future NHL player. Do you succumb to the moment and pound the shit out of the opponent, stoop to thier level and take foolish penalties - or do you stick to your gameplan and skate as a team? Let's GO DU...I say every game is a must win - whether it's playing CC, McGill in October, or Mankato or whomever.... you play to win. Always.

I disagree. Being on the bubble, winning the past three games, and making the tournament---that was "huge." Tonight's game is merely "big." I'm done worrying about a good seed, with all the good seeds we've wasted after 2005. I hope we win, the MacNaughton is a great trophy, and beating the Fighting Pioux would be cool. I hope the team looks upon tonight as a big game. But the only "huge" games were the last three, and the ones to come in the NCAA tournament.

I hope DU wins the MacNaughton too... Moron
