DU Women Win Final SBC Tourney

The University of Denver Women's Golf Team closed out the Sunbelt Tournament with an emphatic thumping of the rest of the field. DU Freshman Rachael Watton walked away with the individual title with a one under par 71 on the final day.

It was the ninth straight year that DU won the Tournament and moved on to the NCAA Regionals.

With the victory DU will move on to the NCAA Regionals.

DU will have their fingers crossed that they will be close to home. The host courses are Penn State, Ohio State & Erie, Colorado.

Colorado National Golf Course in Erie is the home course of the University of Colorado.

Thanks for the heads up. I edited the article.

Freshman Rachael Watton is an interesting story. She was highly touted in the UK and led Scotland to a rare Team victory last year.

But she struggled at DU this year and a 9th place finish was her best performance in eight college tourneys.

Obviously she pulled it all together this week.
