Thank goodness. Now let's turn it on and make another run. Let's go DU!

Looks like the Big East Conference is the next league to implode. As we saw with the WAC, the first shoe to fall is the conference commissioner.

The article linked below is about the Big East Conference but it mentions that Boise State likely won't be joining the WAC.

That basically leaves DU, Seattle & New Mexico State...

DU needs to get on the horn and tell the West Coast Conference that it'll spring for a year's worth of Copenhagen for the entire conference if adding baseball will get the Pios in....

In addition, DU needs to form some sort of pact with Seattle and approach the WCC together to take away the "odd # of teams" obstacle. This is no time to be loyal to a conference we have yet to officially join! If BYU leaves in a year or two DU and Seattle could be fighting over one WCC spot.

WCC would be a natural fit for DU. I like the idea of approaching WCC with Seattle in tow -- Could make for an easier sell.

I'd love to see us in Mountain West to grow some local rivalries. Unfortunately, I just don't think it can happen without football.

I'm nervous about how this WAC failure with affect us, but Peg Bradley-Doppes is a savvy chick. I'm sure she and her staff are putting together something workable.

DG: I am very depressed over the DU basketbball future. Any chance Air Force and DU could be travel partners in the some league?
Gropping at straws: DU and UNCol join Mo. Valley?
To Lax: Some great Selection Show last nite. I let out a delayed reaction screen. If we play almost our best, we defeat the Tar Heels.

No easy answers for DU.

Schools don't want to fly teams around the country in nonrevenue sports. So I have a hard time believing a bunch of broke-ass California private schools will want DU in the current imploding NCAA environment.

Clearly the NCAA has a problem right now. Schools are jumping conferences every few weeks.
