From: DU Athletics Website

DU is 1-8 all-time against North Carolina, with the teams' last meeting occurring on Feb. 14, 2009.

DU is 0-5 in games played in Chapel Hill and have not won a game against North Carolina since 2006.

The Pioneers have only battled the Tar Heels twice when UNC was ranked in the top 5 in the country, losing both contests.

Bill Tierney is 7-3 all-time in NCAA Tournament First Round match-ups.

Tierney has battled North Carolina once in 46-career NCAA Tournament games, falling to the Tar Heels 16-14 during the 1992 Final Four while at Princeton.

We are DUE to beat to beat them.

Thanks for reposting that post-game scene at Crimson and Gold last year.

I was on Long Island for that DU beat-down of Johns Hopkins, and saw the game live, which was epic. But the best moment of the day was watching the DU team at a post-JYU game tent lunch with their parents, watching that Crimson and Gold scene erupting on their cell-phones. I've seen a lot of post-game smiles in sports, but you could tell that actually seeing their fellow students going crazy for them back home meant everything to them. Seeing the DU fans bursting into the spontaneous fight song and dancing on the tables was a moment where you could feel the pure joy of college sports...

Isn't DU playing UNC not UND ;-)

From the looks of that video it seems that more people turn out to watch lacrosse than how many turn out to watch hockey... good for du!!!

DU was #12 out of 58 schools in NCAA D-I hockey attendance, with 5.369 fans per game, about 88% of capacity.

DU finished ahead of schools such as BU, UNH, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Cornell and Vermont.

Students seem to care much more about lacrosse than hockey. You'd think they hadn't won 2 hockey titles in the past decade. What have you done for me lately...
Makes me laugh as I see DU transition to a lacrosse school.

Nice thing about hockey and lacrosse...they occur at different times during the year. No need to pick one or the other.

Plus, it takes a lot less sell out the lacross stadium than Magnus.

Great chance to take Loyola on one more time...I think the boys have a good chance.
