Oct. 11, 2008 - LetsGoDU threw a Pep Rally at Spanky's before DU's opening night hockey game against Notre Dame. 260 students showed up, received FREE Bring Back Boone T-Shirts, made posters, ate burgers and supported Boone. 

Less than ten days later, Chancellor Coombe announced via an email to students that Boone would not become the Official Mascot of the University of Denver. He did allow that, "DU students and alumni be allowed to use the image as a celebration of that past, to the extent that they may choose."

Fans of the University of Denver men's lacrosse team who are interested in watching the NCAA Tournament First Round game between the Pioneers and Tar Heels of North Carolina can watch the game at three locations surrounding the DU campus.

The game is slated to begin Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN3.com.

Crimson & Gold Tavern Watch Party

Things may be a little "tight" at the Crimson & Gold Tavern during the Denver vs. Virginia lacrosse game.  375 people have already RSVP'd via Facebook.  Another 80 people are "maybe."

DU Watch Parties In Denver On Saturday

The University of Denver men's lacrosse team will meet the University of Virginia in the NCAA Tournament Semifinals in Baltimore at 2 PM MT. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Four locations in the Denver area will host watch parties for fans interested in supporting the 15-time WCHA playoff champion University of Denver take on the University of North Dakota in the championship game of the 2011 Red Baron WCHA Final Five at 6 PM MT.

The game will be televised live by Fox Sports Rocky Mountain and FSNorth, and broadcast live on 87-7 The Ticket.

Crimson & Gold Tavern Is Now Open

The Crimson & Gold Tavern opened three days ago. Located at 2017 South University Boulevard, it is the closest restaurant & bar to Magness Arena. Open 11 am to 2 am every day, they should do a brisk business during hockey season.

Boone is even featured on the Menu.
