After a heartbreaking overtime loss to Loyola in the semifinals of
the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament, the University of
Denver men’s lacrosse team received an at-large bid to the N.C.A.A.
tournament.
The No. 13 Pioneers (8-6, 3-3) will travel to North
Carolina to take on the No. 8 seeded Tar Heels (11-5) in the first round
of the tournament on Saturday in Chapel Hill. This is the third
consecutive year the Pioneers have earned a spot in the the tournament,
posting their first N.C.A.A. victory and Final Four appearance during
the 2011 season before losing to eventual N.C.A.A. champion Virginia [read entire article].
