The University of Denver women's golf team was selected to take part in the 2012 NCAA West Regional Championship at Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colorado.

"We are excited to be playing in our 11th straight NCAA tournament," said head coach Sammie Chergo. "I could not be more proud and happy for our players. They have worked so hard this year and I know they are looking forward to having some fun and representing our DU family at the national level."

The University of Colorado will host the three-day, 54-hole event on its home course, just 40 minutes north of the DU campus.

DU will be the No. 15 seed among the West Regional's 24 teams.

Denver finished tied 13th at the 2011 NCAA West Regional at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Washington last May.

This year's tournament features three regional locations each with 24 teams. Eight teams and two individuals from each regional will advance to the finals held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn., May 22-25.

Live coverage of all regional action will be available at GolfStat.com.
