CC Players Should Lay Off Chronic Despite Election

(above) Despite pot smoking becoming legal in Colorado, the NCAA isn't about to allow athletes to spark up
Even though voters in Colorado and Washington approved a constitutional amendment Tuesday legalizing recreational marijuana use, college athletes in those states probably should refrain from lighting up a joint anytime soon.

Marijuana use remains a violation of the NCAA's substance abuse policies, according to a NCAA statement released to Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday afternoon.

"The legalizing of marijuana in Colorado and Washington does not impact the NCAA drug testing rules," the statement said. "The NCAA banned drug and testing policies are not tied to whether a substance is legal for general population use, but rather whether the substance is considered a threat to student-athlete health and safety or the integrity of the game."

The NCAA's stance is similar to the ones taken earlier Wednesday by the nation's major professional sports leagues. Spokesmen from the NFL and NBA told USA Today that marijuana remains prohibited under their respective anti-drug rules for all players regardless of the state laws.

Even before marijuana was legal in Colorado, Colorado College routinely ranked in the top five nationally in pot use among students in university rankings.

Apparently the DU student body is too busy getting hammered and being carted off to area hospitals to have time for challenging the 'Top 5 Pot College' ratings...

@ douchey HockeyBias guy...

Hey, you learned how to cut and paste from the Clarion's website. Good job.

Remember: Control+C, then Control+V.

(Oh, "Control" is the key marked "Ctrl")

If memory serves, you're some sort of Minnesota fan. Unfortunately, an admittedly cursory search of the Minnesota Daily doesn't reveal the police blotter (though the lead story right now is about the disparity in mental health between the LGBT student community and the straight student community, so I guess that's something).

Anyway.

I don't know about you, but *I'm* certain it's because no Minnesota students EVER get drunk and wind up in the hospital.

1-3 drunken students going the hospital every weekend in a student body of 11,500? That's about right...

Good to see that DU's Security Guards are still making it happen.

I wonder if that 400lb fuck still is pretending he's a badass....

To 'control key' Anonymous: That is quite funny! Where do you come up with such a plethora of original material (still chuckling on this end over the explanation of which key is the control key) Touche!

Do you have your own blog where you write (hopefully) in this style? If so, please post it here. Many thanks and keep the laughs coming!

LOL Chuck. It didn't take you long to sink down to our level. I believe that you've condemned DG for doing the exact same thing you just did. Go back to your mom's basement and have your "special time" with your collection of Gopher media guides. Something tells me you really enjoy the 80's when all the guys had mullets.
