DU Lacrosse Picks Up Another Huge 2014 Recruit

(above) Brendan Bomberry is one of the top high school Junior lacrosse players in the country
The University of Denver lacrosse program picked up a huge recruiting coup this week when Brandan Bomberry announced that he would attend DU in 2014.  The oldest of six children, Brendan plays for the Hill Academy in Ontario, Canada.

Bomberry has played for the Six Nations Arrows Express since 2010, this past season dropping 13 goals and 29 assists in the regular season and then 16 points in the OLA Junior A playoffs.

A member of the Iroquois Nationals team that upset Team USA at this past summer's U-19 World Lacrosse Championships, Bomberry netted three goals in that monumental victory. An outstanding hockey player with the OHL's Don Mills Flyers, Bomberry also also considered Syracuse, Loyola and Ohio State.

Comes from the same (Hill Academy) sports boarding school that gave us Jeremy Noble.

Nice to see DU get a top player from Iroquois/Six Nations. These are native Canadians/Americans tyically from the reservations in Ontario/New York State who play for their tribal confederation in International tourneys. Since Lacrosse is an First Nations game, this is great to see.

2. Tyler Pace – Midfield – Port Coquitlam/Blue Ridge – Denver – Tyler Pace is a superb two-way player who has tremendous vision. Pace is also strong on ground balls and a leader in the dressing room. Denver nabs another high impact Canuck!

Sublimely talented lefty looks like he plays on cruise control at times. It may just be that he has a knack for making things look effortless. Excellent passer who makes it easy for scorers by hitting them right in the stick in shooting position. Draws rave reviews from other players, many of whom say he's by far the best player at the camp. Doesn't look big but can't be knocked off the ball.

Thanks for the heads up on these exciting recruits.

LetsGoDU posted an article about Jeremy Bosher back on Oct. 25th.

The lifeblood of college sports is recruiting and its obvious that Tierney and staff have the recruiting dialed up to full speed.

Beating Maryland & the Outlaws in Fallball has to make the players eager to start the season ASAP.
