Carry on....
Amen... I think not being racist is the new Racism. lol
This show is so right.
hahahaha I'm sure the Universty feels the same way about your childish wailing.
The Chancellor and his Diversity Hit Squad are now "The University?"
They probably think they are "The University" and that's what got them into this mess in the first place.
Money. DU administrators aren't motivated by it and their meters won't move when the economic benefits of Boone are discussed. However...
The alumni will. It's time to rally the people who donate the money. Time to embrace an audience beyond this blog.
Want to terrify management? Contact all Alumni club leaders around the country, inform them of the issues - Boone issues, Boone as a money maker, Athletic cutbacks, etc. - and ask for their support. Ask them to spread the word. Prepare material for alumni events. There will be an almost immediate reaction from DU.
Do an alumni-generated press outreach. News outlets love to hear from someone other than the usual institutional suspects.
Every editor, producer and reporter in the area should be made aware of this site. They love controversy and conflict. The Boone Controversy may be a tempest in a teapot, but Denver is now a fairly large tea pot. Local media will pick up on it. All that's necessary is to keep giving the media fresh info.
And finally, ask the alumni to vote with their wallets. Targeted contributions that register a point of view. Give to Athletics, not the general fund. Give to the Alumni office, but only to finance spirit and Boone. And on, and on.
In the end, it's always about money. Hit the fund raising base hard and management just might wake up.
It's also a great way to begin the alumni drum beat for a new Chancellor. After all, how can we be proud of our University when the Chancellor is on a campaign to diminish and denigrate its contributions to the growth and success of the United States. Right?

I've been telling DG that for 6 months. He's too ignorant to figure it out. He's too busy thinking he's James fu$$ing Bond running around the country sneaking Boone into basketBall games.
He's not the man to lead the charge. He has zero credibility. You can't spend all your time throwing sand in the administrators eyes and then expect to have a civil conversation.
Hey, idiot (anon 1:04), why don't you get off your ass and actually do something, then? It's easy to be an internet troll and criticize, but the fact remains that DG has done 10,000 times more than you could ever HOPE to do. So put or shut up, fool.
And Timothy--some good thoughts, but you might want to tone down the calls for a new chancellor. The university is doing well overall, and there are more important issues than just the status of our mascot. The chancellor just needs to realize that the opinions of alumni count, and that he doesn't have to be a coward and cave in to the PC police every time a controversial issue crosses his desk. The things you suggest could open his eyes to that reality, but calling for his ouster over this issue doesn't strike me as a credible stance to take.
