Huge to have two former players named captain for the Olympics. What a great honor for the boys.

Both guys also played together on the USHL River City Lancers in 2002-03.

Also on that team was Alex Goligoski and Nathern Gerbe.

Four guys in the NHL on one junior team. Pretty amazing.

In unrelated news, I got a text from George Karl this morning, who's advanced past the 1st round of the playoffs once out of 9 tries with the Nuggets, saying "thank God PBD isn't my GM"

That's quite the roster on the Lancers. The Lincoln Stars won the championship that year. They had: R. Potulny, Backes, Irmen, Porter, Bina, and JP Lamoureux

Christine Riordan (Dean of Daniels) leaves DU for Kentucky. Sources say that while the business school was thriving under her leadership and our rankings increased steadily, Coombe fired her because he demands that we be #1 in everything and losing out to Stanford, Wharton/Penn and Harvard was simply unacceptable.

I heard Riodan is going to Kentucky to change the Wildcats mascot because several students are afraid of mean looking cats.

Ms. Riordan will make $420K as Kentucky Provost.

That's about ten percent of what their basket ball coach makes.

Gwoz has not shown up at the national meeting in Naples. Where could he still be.

Ive been scanning YouTube for any poolside footage of Frank Serratore rubbing suntan lotion onto Scott Owens back; or of Dave Hackstol and Dean Blais on a JetSki.......

Carle and Stastny are not Olympic captains - they are only capatians for the Team USA in the 2013 World Championships, a 3 week tournament that starts today in Europe. That tourney has seeding implications for the Olympics. but it's played with the best available players outside the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

So that should make them shoe in captains for the olympics. I bet no other college has ever had two captains on the same olympic team. I bet Zucker could be an alternate.

Chris Butler also named to Team USA.

Jason Zucker recorded an assist for the Wild in Game 2 against the Blackhawks.

Tyler Bozak recorded an assist on the MAple Leafs opening goal against the Bruins in a Game 1 loss.

Kisla must be the best head coach in any sport ever.

CC's Alex Krushelnyski ordered Chicken Strips from the Burger King Super Value menu. Later, he folded his shirts, and then watched CSI Miami on DVR, then charged his Iphone.
