It Could be Worse...

An interesting article in Real Clear Sports provides a list of  10 Worst Streaks in Sports. As Pioneer fans, we firmly believe that the DU women's soccer team will score a goal next game, ending 'the streak'. Furthermore, we are certain that they will win the Summit and find their rightful place in the NCAA playoffs - this year.

Just in case that does not happen, let's remember, it could be worse. Real Clear Sports cites some vivid examples:  The Cubs last won a World Series in 1908. The Baltimore O's started a season losing 21 straight games. The NFL Tampa Bay Bucs lost 26 straight games at the start of their franchise in 1976. And a final shot of confidence, we can look at CalTech football. They lost 207 football games over a 10 year period.

The article goes on to state: "A recent study showed that negative emotions are key in enjoying sports. It's an obvious conclusion but something people tend to forget about."

...That should make us all feel better.
