NCHC Seeks Resolution Before Shootout

Is there anything more deflating than a tight hockey game ending in a shootout?

In a brilliant move, the NCHC will be the first college hockey league to adopt 3-on-3 overtime as part of its regular season. If tied at the end of regulation, the teams will play 5-on-5 overtime for five minutes. If still tied, the teams skate 3-on-3 for an additional 5 minutes. If no goals, a dreaded shootout.

The final OT results will be used to determine league standings. Unfortunately, points will not count in the critical Pairwise calculations.

Ties are un-American... As the old saying goes, "ties are like kissing someone's sister who went to CC".
