Low Expectations Greet Basketball Programs

In a vote of league coaches, sports information directors and media members, DU was tabbed to finish 8th in The Summit League for the 2015-2016 season. South Dakota State was selected as the pre-season favorite. No DU players were selected as pre-season players of the year first or second teams. The prior two seasons the Pioneers were a pre-season number two selection. The Pioneers are heavy on under-classmen and lost their starting point guard, Jalen Love, to transfer. Last year, South Dakota State was selected as the pre-season favorite but was toppled by North Dakota State.

I'm surprised no one's commented on both basketball teams being picked to finish eighth in the Summit League. So I will. I find it embarrassing. I don't know much, or really anything, about the women's team.I can see the men finishing near the bottom of the league. Maybe 10 wins overall.
