After several rounds of voting, the polls closed for the University of North Dakota Monday. Stakeholders got to chose between Fighting Hawks and Roughriders. The winner, announced today, is Fighting Hawks with 57% of the vote.
When the Pioneers play North Dakota December 4th-5th in Grand Forks, they will still be wearing 'ND' on their sweaters until a final illustration is reviewed and approved by the administration. LetsGoDU volunteers our version (above) for consideration.
28 other Universities have come up with the unique "hawk" nickname.

If we don't stay vigilant as DU fans, I fear we may become the Hawks someday if DU ever decides it can't live with its Western heritage...
Don't forget, the jelly donut hawk logo and Ruckus mascot costume are sitting in storage...
