The University of Denver placed a league record 18 members on the 2009 All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association Academic Team, announced today by the WCHA. In addition, the Pioneers also set a school record with seven WCHA Scholar-Athletes.

Every Pioneer fan should be as proud of this as we are about hockey hardware. Outstanding!
The freshmen don't even count in this ranking, either, which makes it even more incredible.
The pressure is clearly now on Brookwell, Brehm and Maiani to get to a 3.00!.
In all fairness to Brookwell, its hard to get an A in public speaking with half his teeth missing.

A credit to the team (we knew they were bright when they picked DU), the coaches, and the University for dedication to academics and athletics.
