Solid W last night for the Pios. They came out of the gates flying. Had good legs, a good forecheck that created some pressure, and good puck movement. Niagara looked generally overmatched early on. Amazingly though, it was 2-1 after 1. I thought Niagara seized some momentum after that goal and looked pretty good early in the 2nd. Ultimately, though, DU turned on the gas again and ran away with it.

While I'm not thrilled that DU has had to recruit club players to play due to the depth issues, it was cool to see Toriumi get some shifts late in the game. Had to be a thrill for him.

Sounds like a good win. And maybe attendance is on a gradual uptick. 5200 for a Niagara game isn't bad, in a year where the attendance started out slow. Good luck to the Pioneers tonight, they need another non-conference win.

No attendance uptick and no 5200 in attendance. High $$$ east side seats maybe 25% full.

Lots more ads, sponsorships, etc. While we had the Pepsi starting lineup, at least they haven't yet stooped to having the Coors Lite Star Spangled Banner. In fact, the nonsponsored choir was awesome.

What's with the ads? Still trying to pay for the Obama show?? You walk a thin line with advertising. They risk cheapening the product. The ad board in front of the gold letters of "Magness Arena" is a travesty in tackiness.

It was a fun game but wonder how far we can go with our defense men leading the scoring.
