DU's 2005-06 Schedule

Thanks to Puck Swami for piecing together an approximate schedule for DU next season. If you see any errors let me know...

A quick glance at the schedule reveals a diet heavy on nonconference cupcakes. I haven't seen a schedule this soft since the Gemans rolled through Western Europe in 1940 (just 17 years before CC won its last National Championship). I hope DU doesn't go into diabetic shock when they finish the nonconference component of the schedule.

If accurate the schedule looks real good for DU. Bye weeks before UND & Minnesota series as well as easier non-conference weekends before Wisconsin (twice) & CC weekends. This schedule was designed to win the MacNaughton. Lets hope the team has the goods to pull it off.

Schedule

Sept 30 Calgary (Cupcake Exhibition)

I agree. I didn't want to be blamed by the hardcare DU fans of taking the cupcakes lightly this year.

GO DU

You will, of course, lose on the 27th and 28th of October.

You'd better hope that DU wins the MacNaughton and/or the Broadmoor. Because they may very well end up with the same fate as last season if they drop even one of those non-conference games.

DG:

I am already in diabetic shock. This looks like a disappointing "leap year" in the scheduling, where good opponents were obviously not available.

In 2007-2008, Maine comes in for two, I believe, which should help then, but Ciskie is right in that this year's Denver team probably needs to go 10-0 or 9-1 vs these cupcakes or the NCAA spot may be in jeopardy.

I've heard that Boston University is coming out to Denver in 2007-08 as well. Probably for the Denver Cup is my guess. Perhaps Jack wants to get the team aclimated to the altitude in case they make the Frozen Four.

The more you know about the Pairwaise System the less you know about the Pairwise System. Know what I mean? anyway, with that disclaimer out of the way, I doubt a record of less than 9-1-0 against the Cupcakes would damage DU chances worse than what happened this year.

DU lost so many comparisons because of losses to Hockey East (1-3-0), CCHA (1-1-0) & ECAC (0-1-0)....yada, yada, yada.

Like I said the WCHA schedule looks like it sets up perfectly. Add the Regional in Denver, a team loaded with Seniors and a little "Gwoz Magic" and we may end up back in the Frozen four...

dg, you forgot the "(WC)" after the series at Michigan Tech... 9-10 February.

You are making the trip to Houghton then, right? Never a better series to come up for!

That is a little weak as far as non conference opponents go.
