DU-CC Smack "Too Hot" For USCHO.com

In a surprising move, the USCHO.com Board Administrator deleted this weeks "DU vs. CC Thread" for "Vulgar language, distasteful photographs, questionable judgement and crude humor" and those were just the charges levelled against Colorado College fan Randy May.

LetsGoDU attempted to contact the administrator but were told by his secretary, "No Comment."

LetsGoDU will cover this travesty of justice as the First Amendment continues to get trampled by various college hockey publications.
DU Games Pulled Off TV This Weekend

There will be no TV games for this weekend's series. Fox Sports Rocky Mountain had originally had scheduled Friday's DU/MTU game for telecast on the season TV schedule, but it is being pulled for the Colorado High School Football Tourney. Same thing with the DU/Air Force game on Nov 24 - pulled.

Gwoz Lands Another Award

(Left) Miami University will recognise Coach Gwozdecky this weekend. (Below Right) Coach in the early Nineties coaching at Miami

CRADLE OF COACHES: Miami University is renowned in college athletics as the `Cradle of Coaches', as an extraordinary number of coaches have either graduated from or cut their coaching teeth at MU.

This weekend, former Miami and current Denver head coach George Gwozdecky will become the 45th member of Miami's Cradle of Coaches Association, an elite fraternity of both collegiate and professional coaches that have made a lasting impact on their respective sports. Among the other members are Bo Schembechler (football) and Ara Parseghian (football). Gwozdecky will be inducted during the second intermission of Friday's game between Miami and Denver.

Coach Gwozdecky is a two-time Spencer Penrose National Coach of the Year (1993 & 2005) and three-time WCHA Coach of Year (1995, 2002 & 2005)

DU's 2005-06 Schedule

Thanks to Puck Swami for piecing together an approximate schedule for DU next season. If you see any errors let me know...

A quick glance at the schedule reveals a diet heavy on nonconference cupcakes. I haven't seen a schedule this soft since the Gemans rolled through Western Europe in 1940 (just 17 years before CC won its last National Championship). I hope DU doesn't go into diabetic shock when they finish the nonconference component of the schedule.

If accurate the schedule looks real good for DU. Bye weeks before UND & Minnesota series as well as easier non-conference weekends before Wisconsin (twice) & CC weekends. This schedule was designed to win the MacNaughton. Lets hope the team has the goods to pull it off.

Schedule

Sept 30 Calgary (Cupcake Exhibition)

Blog Closed For Off-Season Repairs

Its time to close the Blog till next hockey season.

Thanks to the readers who tuned in this season to follow the Denver Pioneers and WCHA Hockey. LetsGoDU was created to improve school spirit at DU (hense the name), and along the way the Blog morphed into a satirical look at college hockey. We'll be back a month or so before next season ready to take on the college hockey world again.

A huge "Good Bye & Good Luck" to departing players Gabe Gauthier, Ted O'Leary and Matt Carle who delivered two more National Championships (DU's 6th & 7th), a MacNaughton (DU's 10th) and a Broadmoor Trophy (our 14th) to the university. To Matt Carle who added a Hobey Baker Award to mix, bring the Stanley Cup back to DU on its way up to Anchorage.

To all the DU fans who helped out with story ideas, photos, encouragement, inside infomation and road trips I can't thank you enough. To the other college hockey bloggers, stay in touch we are creating something great here and getting better every day. Thanks to everyone who posted "Comments," about the articles. Often your Comments were better than my articles.

Finally to the rest of the DU hockey players, coaches and EVERYONE in DU's Athletic Department, thanks for another great season of Pioneer hockey. Lets hang some more banners up in the Magness rafters next season.

If you have any questions about DU Hockey or the University of Denver go to the "All Things DU" Thread at USCHO.com, the DU fans who frequent that site know EVERYTHING...
