DU Recruit "Mails In" Pumpkin Project
2007 DU recruit Jesse Martin is playing well this season for the Tri-City Storm (USHL). His 4 goals and 6 assists in 12 games are third best on the team. As we can see from his pumpkin (left), he is from Edmonton, but was drafted in the 7th Round by the Atlanta Thrashers.
.
The Storm Chasers, the official booster club of the team, held a charity raffle on Oct. 27 and each player was charged with decorating a pumpkin (see link). Storm fans could purchase raffle tickets ($1) and place them in a bag next to their favorite pumpkin.
.
"Our Jesse," quite frankly, produced the worst pumpkin. Sloppy work is not going to cut it at the University of Denver, on the ice or in the classroom. We suggest that Jesse "buckles down" and decorates a first class Christmas Tree Ornament, perhaps with a DU Logo or a picture of the Denver Boone, otherwise his first project in Denver could be painting Gwoz's Doghouse.

That is one sorry-looking pumpkin. I'm sure there are a ton of Oiler fans in Nebraska, too.

Should have made a Huskers pumpkin...:)
