MATCHUPS: Third-seeded DU will play second-seeded North Dakota at 1 p.m. MDT Friday in the first WCHA semifinal at the Excel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The top-seeded Tigers will play the winner of the Thursday play-in game.

DU struggled against the Fighting Sioux during the regular season, losing three of four games and suffering a sweep at North Dakota last month. North Dakota reached the semifinals by recording a 2-1 win against Michigan Tech in Game 3 of those teams' first-round series Sunday.

All the Final Five games will be televised on Fox College Sports-North as well as Fox College Sports-Central.

Should be a good game. Maybe some of the Gopher fans that bother to come early will cheer for us...

Should be a hard fought and exciting game.

I just hope the DU shows up this time.

Swami, remember in 1999 when we played UND in the championship game the Gopher fans were there cheering for us. Or perhaps they were rooting against UND which is a more likely scenario.

After the "Holy Cross Incident" where 10,000 Sioux fans turned the Ralph into a home game for the Crusaders, Gopher fans will cheer against the Sioux.

Should be a late arriving MN. crowd and there will be many UND fans in attendance.

no... it will be an early MN crowd (remember MN always plays the night game per FSN), and MN still has to beat SCSU. Otherwise it will be a bunch of empty seats or guys like me getting cheap duccats from heartbroken MN fans. ;-)

What's the news on Tyler R? He was ineffective Friday and even more so Saturday. Looked to be a lot of pain.

Huge challenge for the Pios against UND. They will have to play 60 minutes of hockey to have a chance. No letdowns. The defense will have to be sharp getting the puck out, and I think a steady hard forecheck is essential to keeping some of the pressure off the d-men. Big challenge, but also a great opportunity to keep building confidence and momentum towards the national playoffs.

Do you know if this will be broadcast in Denver? If not, do you know the hotspots around town (preferably downtown) to watch the game?

Thanks!

Matt

All games will be broadcast on Fox College Sports-Central available on most expanded "sports tiers" from you're local cable company, so long as you have a digital box.

I'm soliciting input from some of the Denver regulars, but my first guess would be the Campus Lounge on South University Blvd. Its owned by former DU legend Jim Wiste.

Just to clarify: The game is on Friday, not Thursday. The play in game is St Cloud and the goofers

Nice catch. Looks like the Rocky Mountain News had an error. :-)

As of last night Fox Rocky Mountain was not televising the Final Five.

Ruegsegger has had a nagging abdominal and groin injury and it was mentioned that there was some tendonitis. I'm sure he's still in a lot of pain.

If the normal smooth gliding motion of your tendon is impaired, the tendon will become inflamed and movement will become painful.

In unusual situations, surgical treatment may be necessary to realign the tendon.
