U.S. NAT'L U-18 TEAM NOTES: Jeremy Morin (13g-5a--18) and DU recruit Drew Shore (7g-11a--18) are currently tied for the USNDT lead in points with 18 each. Morin leads the team in goals with 13 and is averaging 1.13 points per game. Shore and Cam Fowler each have a team-high 11 assists. Morin was last quoted as saying that DU was one his three choices for college ... DU goaltender recruit Adam Murray currently owns a team best 6-2-1-1 record ... DU recruit William Wrenn (0g-5a--5) is second on the team in +/- at +7.

DU's USHL Recruit Notes: Defenseman Paul Phillips (2g-8-a--10) had a goal last night and may just be the most improved player in the USHL this season. Certainly his stats are way ahead of last year's pace. Phillips will be drafted in the NHL Draft in June. He's been projected to go as high as a 3rd round pick, but his play is making a strong case to go higher than that ... Matt Donovan (1g-4a--5) has been the picture of consistency after winning a gold medal for Team USA at the World Junior A Championships last month ... DU's newest recruit Chris Knowlton (4g-3a--7) is captain of Des Moines Buccaneers.

U.S. NAT'L U-17 TEAM NOTES: The U.S. National Under-17 Team has won eight of its last 10 games ... DU 2010 recruit Jason Zucker (9g-3a--12) is the leading goal-scorer on the U.S. National Under 17-team with nine goals through 17 games.

What type of teams do the U-17 and U-18 teams play?

The U-17 team plays Junior teams here in the USA and Canada, and same age teams abroad, and the odd prep/midget team.

The U-18 team plays junior teams, international same-age teams and college teams.
