“Our defensemen were tremendous, and obviously, Matt Glasser was a one-man show out there,” DU head coach George Gwozdecky said.
The University of Denver may have been missing Tyler Bozak & Patrick Wiercioch tonight, but that didn't bother DU Junior Matt Glasser. He calmly recorded a hat trick while DU rolled to a 5-2 victory over Minnesota State-Mankato.
DU has now won seven games in a row and have outscored their opponents 34-7 during "The Streak." During the winning streak DU has sent three vanquished goaltenders to the showers early.
According to Bacher's Blog, DU standout Tyler Bozak missed last night's game after suffering a left knee injury during the second period in Friday's 3-2 win. Gwozdecky said in pregame show that Bozak worked hard to rehab his knee to play Saturday, but they decided to take every precaution to protect their star.
DU will take three weeks off and return against Holy Cross in the Denver Cup on Jan. 2. RPI and Boston University will also participate in the Denver Cup.

hat trick for Glasser. ballin.
Glasser looked great tonight on TV. All three goals were solid.
this is awesome ...
Seriously ..
FROZEN FOUR ...
Chevy is just really coming into form, and I was so worried ... this is great.
Go DU, Go Chevy .... (and Lars!)
Whats yellow and black and a total disappointment this year? THE CC TIGERS
1st place in WCHA. Finally back up to speed.
Think this was a statement game.
Bozak and Wiercioch aren't the only stars on the TEAM.
Martin, Glasser, and Chevy--3 stars for the weekend.
Nice work DU!!!!
I think DU is becoming a true team. Players are stepping up with key guys out of the lineup, and Chevy's play is upping the confidence level of everyone.
The team is learning important lessons on winning road games, and setting themselves up for a promising second half.
in the second half, look for more defensive intensity and hopefully better special teams play, which is crucial.
Another great weekend for DU! To get consecutive sweeps on the road against league opponents is no small feat. The Pios have built some great momentum going into the break. Great to see guys like Glasser and Martin step up, and Chevy continues to play well. A 13-5-1 record and 1st place in the WCHA is a damn good start. Can't wait for the Denver Cup.
How much time off do the players get for the holidays? I'm assuming they are off through the 25th and then right back to practice?
If past years are any indication its well past XMAS and may be as late as New Years Day that they are due back.
Was it last year or two years ago that a bunch of Canadian players almost didn't make it back in time? There was a blizzard in western Canada and all the Alberta & BC players were delayed.
I think they made it back with only a couple of hours to spare.
Turns out the players are due back on the 26 and practice begins on the 27.
They aren't taking any chances this year and obviously want to be ready for BU.
