They knew the moment would be awkward.
And they knew the only way to get an unpleasant memory behind them was to talk about it.
So, when North Dakota alum Robbie Bina and DU alum Geoff Paukovich met at the beginning of the Edmonton Oilers' camp in September, they spoke plainly. Bina told the man who had delivered the hit that had broken a vertebrae in his neck more than three years earlier in a college game that he didn't hold a grudge. [rest of article]

Why would Robbie need to hold a grudge when there are legions of idiots who will do it for him?? :)
Thankfully Bina is a bigger man than most of stooges in Grand Forks.
UND fans live a miserable existence and have no life.Bina has moved on because he has a life.
Geoff Paukovich is my favorite attempted murderer. :)
With Dirty as the leading example!
Why the jab towards Sioux fans? The beauty of this whole story was a story of reconciliation. I'm a Sioux fan, and I think we are way beyond Paukovich. We actually have brand new people to hate. ha
Runninwiththeodogs is not on that list, I might add!
Curses. What do I have to do to get on that list?
I think the jabs are at Sioux fans for the following reasons:
1) The hit was four years ago. Paukovich felt horrible about what he did and tried to apologize multiple times. He was never the same player after that hit. He got death threats from adult Sioux fans after that hit, and even now, there are Sioux fans that continue to spew hatred at him.
2) For years after the hit, Sioux fans encouraged Matt Greene to fight Paukovich as vigilante, hockey code "payback."
3) Paukovich's father was physically attacked by an angry Sioux fan in Denver. That kind of thing is worse than the death threats raining down on the kid.
I can understand why Sioux fans were upset at the time, but four years of carrying a grudge is just too long....I'm glad the players reconciled. Time for fans to move on....
I am the same anonymous Sioux poster. Agreed, we have no right to e-mail any players at any time, or phone messages, etc. Verbally or physically attacking parents, siblings, etc is moronic and sick. Making silly comments on blogs is fine, but even with that there is a time limit. Hopefully, this story ends any morons from being morons.
I don't think the hatchet will truly be buried until Bina and Pauk compete in a hotdog eating contest or have a lightsaber duel with fluorescent light bulbs.
