LetsGoDU would like to take this opportunity to welcome the league's two newest doormats ... er .... I mean ... Lay out the welcome doormat for the league's two newest teams.

The Duluth News Tribune has all the details.

Wow a weekend in Omaha, what fun! As the old saying goes, I spent a year there one week.

Nice scoop by Kevin Pates. He's the dean of WCHA reporters, and with McLeod being an ex UMD AD, I would expect Pates to break this story.

I don't think this move helps the WCHA or Denver, but it does help the sport of college hockey rescue the CHA teams in a collaborative fashion.

Typically, when a sports league, either pro or collegiate, gets up to a high number like twelve they split into two divisions. Is there any talk about this happeneing in this situation?

I think it's cute that you guys think a program that consistently draws 6,000+ per game in attendance and now has Dean Blais as their head coach is going to be a perennial doormat. I don't expect UNO to be a perennial powerhouse, but I don't really see them finishing in the cellar very often.

Rot in hell...all of you. Looking forward to throwing haymakers with each and every one of you overrated, arrogant, cocky snowboarding burnouts.

AJ - if your team is as sensitive as you they don't stand a chance to compete in the WCHA.

Pat - UNO will certainly be a tough opponent. They were competitive in the CCHA and now they have Blais. This blog likes to mix humor with news...sorta like the Daily Show of college hockey.

Still sore about being the first team to ever be swept by UNO, I see.

As long as CC, DU and UND are all in the same division, it's all good.

UNO is being extremely underestimated. I'm not sure if some of you realize this, but they put up a hell of a fight against teams like michigan, notre dame, miami, and ohio state. Im not saying they are going to sweep the WCHA, Im just saying, they are going to be right there with the rest of us.
