(above) The tents will be pitched in front of Magness Arena on Friday night as students vie for season tickets

Individual student season tickets for the 2009-10 Denver Pioneer hockey team go on sale Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8 a.m. at the Ritchie Center North Box Office. DU hockey student season tickets cost $52 for 13 games and students are limited to one ticket each with a valid DU student ID.

DG,
Did you and your buddies have to dust off some tents to make it look like there is actually enough interest by the DU students to camp out for tickets? Lets get real, I think this will be a walk up to the window and get the seats you want event. I'm going to refrain from the Dorm/Tent City remarks already made on this Blog and a recent post. I'm not sure that 4 tents would actually count as a city. Have a nice day!

There are only 500 student full season tickets available each year, and another 300 student tickets are made available each week for each night of the next home weekend series for a total of 800 student section tickets for each game the students are on campus.

Hundreds of DU students camp out every year to obtain one of the 500student season tickets, and have been doing so for the last 10 years or so - it's a serious event.

With this high level of student interest buying up 800 tickets in total per game I don't understand all of the empty seats in the top part of the student section for most games. It sure doesn't look like there are 800 students sitting in that end zone.

Oh they buy the tickets, casue it's only $50 or so. But then comes ski season....

Understand! When i was a student, as much as I loved the hockey games,Skiing at loveland or A Basin usually won out. Sometimes we would leave the hill about two in the afternoon if skiing wasn't that good and come back to catch the saturday game.

New "tradition" (with the contradiction intended):
Students do the Duke basketball "hop" until our first shot on goal. Opinions?

What happens to the tickets when students are gone? That section should NEVER be empty!!

When students are gone on school breaks, they sell those seats to regular folks for far more money than the students paid!

For example, DU will clear an extra $20,000 to $25,000 this year on the first CC game, which falls in December when the students are on break.
