InsideCollegeHockey.com has ranked the "Top 15 Recruiting Classes" in the country. They named DU's class as #2.
In what seems like a recent trend, Colorado College was not ranked in the Top 15.
Obviously these rankings should be taken with a grain of salt, because INCH ranked DU's 2004 class #8 (Stastny, Mannino, Dingle, Thomas, May, Paukovich) and seven months later they won a National Championship. Many believe that the 2004 class was DU's best recruiting class in the modern era.
Last season INCH ranked DU's 2008 Class as the 8th best in the country. Colborne, & Wiercioch are now considered All-WCHA elite players just one year later.

Thanks for the correction. My mistake.
While the exact placement rankings can and should be debated, I think the net takeaway from having these rankings is in the bigger picture. If you are ranked anywhere in the top 15 or so, it means that you are likely going the talent to be competitive at the national level, and if you consistently fall outside the top 15, it likely means a struggle to get there....
Which UND recruit is the favorite to have a "run in" with the law first?
I was pretty surprised when I saw Harvard at #5 on the list since they rarely do anything significant nationally. Then I saw rensallear at #9 and was shocked
Conversely, which DU recruit is the favorite to break a guy's neck first?
Harvard has Montreal native Louis LeBlanc, the top rated forward in the INCH rankings, who was Montreal's 1st round pick. There was a lot of pressure for him to play major junior in Canada this season after starring in the USHL last year.
You cannot take something that has happened only once and compare it to something else that is virtually a yearly occurrence.
Nice try though.. keep it up. All the chatter is fun. Season is almost here.
wooooo
Umm getting hurt is a part of hockey - get over it.
I'm pretty sure I can compare the two because I just did. But if you insist on waiting until the next DU player nearly kills an opponent, that's really up to you.
Hakstol better toughen up the neck strengthening exercises then so some needleneck doesn't cause a slow down a game then.
I would happily watch DU players consistently try to kill their opponents - it is hockey after all.
You do realize the objective in hockey is to score more goals than your opponent rather than murdering your opponent, right?
...says Dirty to Hextall
Yes I do.
Sounds like you are more suited for women's hockey. None of that scary full contact stuff.
Didn't DU score goals and "murderize" people all the way to a national title that year... my memory is fuzzy ... who did we beat in the national title game?
Refresh my memory, please Dirty.
You'll have to excuse Dirty, his vaginitis is acting up again.
Is that the same Brett Hextall who managed to get Denver to commit 45 minutes in penalties in under a minute?
You remember winning the national title and don't remember who they beat? Sounds like you are in serious need of Ginkgo Biloba.
It sure is.
Dirty please remove your toungue from Hextall's taint.
Uh oh, the spelling nazzi is going to be on you for that one....
I just remember beating a bunch of wannabes who should have been figure skating as opposed to playing hockey.
Dirty.....when's the last time you were pimp-slapped? Please don't post here anymore until you locate your nuts and remove the shrink wrap.....
Judging by his wannabe gangsta picture, his nut haven't dropped yet.
Hell,I'm guessing he/she is an hermaphrodite.
Dirty has an innie and not an outie -- and, no, I'm not talking about his belly button.
However, his scared little turtle does make an actual appearance from time-to-time....but only when hextall is around.
DU fans seem to have quite the chubby for Brett Hextall. And you have three more years to oggle over him. That is if a DU freshman doesn't break his neck this year.
Aren't you all excited?
zzzzzzzz
Let it go Dirty, you are the one who will be curled up in the fetal positon,at the bottom of your shower, crying and sucking your thumb when your lover Hextall leaves school.
Who the hell is Hextall? Whoever he is, I doubt that he can cast a "hex" to reverse the 1-0 (2004) and 4-1 (2005) DU wins that have surely gotten the oversized North Dakota fans' oversized panties in a super-sized bunch.
Hextall is a grade A twirp. He'll be a grease spot on someone's boards this season. Anyone that yaps that much and wears his hair like Hall and Oates deserves an ass kicking.
How sad is it that a guy like Dirty is spending a significant amount of time trolling blogs for other schools and taking the time to pick fights?
I mean really...?
awwww c'mon! I calls em like i sees em - why did you have to pull that comment??
See the big picture. Dirty has a master purpose -- from deep within his mother's basement, he is here to keep the universe on an even keel. He knows just how to poke everyone's balloon and keep us all honest.
There is a certain awesomeness to his modus operandi...
methinks dirty needs a teardrop tattoo, to complete the faux-gangsta look
He needs to be dropped off in Compton,Harlem or Cabrini Green and see how that look works for him.
