Unfortunately it isn't going to work when 50% or more in attendance are going to be Sioux fans.

I wish I could be there to don the the coonskin cap and help repel the barbarians!

Ok Denver... Up & ADAM! I SHORE hope Denver sharpens thier pencils for this test. The smarter team will prevail.... not nessecarily the better team or the stronger team.

Why ignore the auto spell-check that's built into the comment box?

Games are already sold out. That's a bad sign because DU fans don't think that far ahead....

Plus the games aren't included in student season tickets.

Small update on Cheverie and Wiercioch.

What exactly is a "Boone-Out"?

Great! I hope I can get Boone to autograph my Sioux shirt.

There are still individual tickets available on both nights via Ticketmaster. But yeah its a virtual sellout.

A "Boone-Out" is our version of a "White-Out."

My apologies on the incorrectness of how many Sioux fans will be there. I just forget how DU fans treat a hockey game like there at a funeral. And since Sioux fans actually cheer I think the amount of Sioux fans actually attendance can be mistaken.

DU is a private school full of out of state kids who didn't grow cheering for the Pioneers, and the state of Colorado is full of people who didn't grow up here either. On top of that, we are over-saturated with entertainment options, and pro sports dominate ALL college sports in the state. In fact, no college sports teams in the state sell out all games, and no college teams here really have very noisy crowds, even the big state schools. It is a just different dynamic than North Dakota, where Sioux hockey is the dominant state flagship sports attraction by default, and 95% of the crowd grew up watching the Sioux each winter. The emotional investment needed to cheer loudly simply isn't important to most people.

@Puck Swami: Just to give note I'm not lauding UND fans for being loud either. More so lauding the UND fans who don't reside in Grand Forks or North Dakota in particular. Home games at the Ralph can have as much of a funeral-like atmosphere as the Magness does.

Just got my tickets! Can't wait for this weekend.

I promise you there will be at least 2,000 Sioux fans in that building. You can talk all you want, but Sioux fans travel better then any team in the country.

Anonymous said...

Pioneer fans, get ready! We have to keep the ND fans at bay!

Anonymous said...

If there are 2,000 Sioux fans in the building, will 1900 of them be drunk and obnoxious?

Anonymous said...

Trick question. Drunk or not, ALL of them are obnoxious.
