University of Denver captain Rhett Rakhshani was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week as a result of his outstanding performances against Colorado College last weekend.
A 5-10, 180-pound senior and draftee of the NHL's New York Islanders, Rakhshani scored three goals and set up another for four points as Denver took over sole possession of first place in the WCHA by taking three of four points in a home-and-home WCHA set that featured the two teams tied atop the league.
In a 2-1 road victory for DU over Colorado College last Friday evening in Colorado Springs, Rakhshani netted the game-winning goal on a power-play tally at 2:59 of the second period.
Then last Saturday night in the Mile High City, Rakhshani factored in on three of his team's four goals in a 4-4 overtime tie against the Tigers, scoring twice - including a shorthander - and setting up another.

He also had a 4.0 GPA this quarter and is will graduate from DU early, due to an advanced course load.
Rock is getting it done on and off the ice as a great captain.
He is having a terrific season. Good planning on his part to have his degree in hand when he turns pro after winning the NCAA title in April. ;)
I bet that after Rhett graduates he will be cheering for DU rather than CC. Rhett's team will leave with a smile on their faces.
