Denver Post: Maiani To Have Surgery Today

(above) Anthony Maiani's season may be over

Mike Chambers of the Denver Post is reporting that Anthony Maiani, DU's second leading assist leader, will have surgery on his injured finger today.

The article also has some interesting quotes from Air Force coach Frank Serratore who's team faced Rochester Institute of Technology four times this season.

Tough blow for the Pios. Maiani is small finesse scorer, and without full use of his finger, I wonder how effective he'd be.

Hopefully someone steps up. Personally, I'd go with Glasser as a replacement. Matt is fast and experienced, and ocassionally scores goals...

Get well soon, Anthony. Atleast you can still use your middle finger for the CC fans! You'll still get to be with the guys on the ice to hoist the National Championship in front of your family....

I think Brandon Vossburg would be the best replacement. His toughness along the boards would be a great compliment to Ostrow and Martin.

This injury really shows how much they could have used last year's version of Salazar.
