Tyler Bozak intends to complete his degree at the University of Denver. “I didn’t start anything this year, but Denver offers classes online or I’m looking into taking something there in the summer,” said the Saskatchewan-born Bozak, a general business major, whose father runs the Global TV station in Regina. “And my parents wouldn’t let me not finish.

Big day for Matt, according to the article:

"Before the game, the 25-year-old Carle was awarded the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy as the Flyers' most improved player. It was by vote of his teammates, and it turned out he showed his appreciation in a rather dramatic way."

Though Matt helped us at DU, after yesterday I can no longer ever root for him again as he ruined my team's playoff hopes. Matt, thank you for your 3 years at DU, but I'm no longer a fan. Lets go Rangers '10-11.

The pairing with Pronger certainly paid dividends for Carle and the Flyers.

Congrats to Matt!

Just always something snake bitten about the Rangers, which is really weird since they have players like Drury, Gaborik, and Lundqvist. Sorry guys, I was cheering for the Flyers since Carle and Lappy play for them.

Good to hear that Bozak will still try to get his degree.

Lets face it. The Rangers can't win unless there's a former Pioneer on the team (Glenn Anderson).

Rangers need to clean house starting with Dolan, Sather and Tortorella.

Drury, Wade Redden and Roszival are three of the first players they should dump. Overpaid under performers.

du78--Drury is one of the clutch players of all time. In the last minute of a tie game I want him on the ice over anybody.

Ever since I became a serious college hockey/DU fan my allegiance to the NHL and the teams that I used to follow Kings and Rangers) dropped dramatically. I still root for them, but not when they are playing against former Pioneers. I was definitely pulling for the Flyers yesterday.

Auuml - Drury has been dreadful on the Rangers, it is time for him to move on. He is probably the highest paid 4th liner in the NHL and his prime is over. The Rangers biggest problem is they gave all these older veterans huge contracts, they haven't performed and no one will take them off their hands. BTW, I am an Islander fan but watch all of the teams in the NYC area as I live here. So maybe I should hope that the Rangers keep all of them ;-)

Drury got paid $8,050,000 this season for 14 goals, 18 assists and a -10.

du78-if you live in nyc area you have THREE teams that over pay veterans as they slide into the sunset. The Nicks and Mets are also woeful examples of what the Rangers do . It's time for you to move back out here. 19 bucks for a good seat at Magness.

I am a Yankee fan so it would be tough for me to move back there :-). Going to see the Yanks on Thursday night against the Halos. Can't stand watching the NBA so I ignore the Knicks and the Mets are a second rate team although their new stadium is nice. I get to watch tons of NHL hockey on TV without having to subcsribe to Center Ice between the 3 area teams, Versus, the NHL Network and NBC.

Until the Dolans sell the Rangers and Knicks, nothing will change for those two teams in the Garden. Los Mets also need to be sold as the Wilpons are clueless about signing baseball players along with their GM, Omar Minaya. Even though the Islanders have been horrible since their Cup years, they are maiking strides with an infusion of young players and not getting hoodwinked into signing lazy Russian players. Their ball and chain is having DiPietro signed until the next century and having him watch from the pressbox and/or trainer's room.

I'm a Red Sox fan du78. This year we bury the Yanks.
I only root for two teams-the sox and the pios. That's it!

DU 78 Enjoy the new Yankee Stadium. It is fabulous. It is the home of 27 world titles quite a few more than Red Sox.

du78 said...

Been to the new stadium already and it is great.

Good luck with that Aluuum, first series went well for your Sox!

All I have to say to Aluuum is...put down the crack pipe!!

Quentin Shore plays on Ricci's U-16 team. He is going to the USNDP U-17 team next season and supposedly Gwoz has offered him a scholie for 2012

Red Sox Nation jealousy just runs rampant.

Fuck the skankees...

"Good luck with that Aluuum, first series went well for your Sox!"

Wow...oh my, yes, losing that first series of the year always just dooms baseball teams. I mean, the other 159 games must just be meaningless.

Get a grip, dude. When CC Sabathia's arm falls off and AJ Burnett shows his true, sucky colors, Beckett, Lester and Lackey will pitch the Sawx to where we need to be. Fuck the skankees and their fans and their $2500 tickets.

Q: Who's won more WS titles in the past 6 years, the Sawx or the skanks?

A: WELL, IT'S NOT THE SKANKEES!!!

Nice of you to forget the TWENTY SIX other World Series Championships the Yankees of won. You sound like a CC FAN !!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Anon-12.23- so by the same token, the previous 26 WORLD SERIES WIN are meaningless and the history of baseball is 6 years old right? Do the Red Sox fly participation banners at Fenway? The Sox will always be the Yankee's bitch.

Anonymous said...

Yep, I'm not a CC fan -- good call, tool shack.

A life-long DU fan and Sawx fan.

Basically, it's "what have you done for me lately" -- and, lo and behold (gasp), the Red Sox have done more lately than the skanks. End. Of. Story.

But, yeah, congrats on all those championships, most of which you were probably not even alive for....

Anonymous said...

Does that mean I can't enjoy DU's NCAA Hockey Championships in the 50's or 60's?

Anonymous said...

Actually by your own skewed thinking, The Yankees have done more "lately". They are CURRENT WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!

Aluuum said...

Gees!! I'm sorry i started this.

Let's all agree --C.C. sucks!

I'll say up front, I don't like the Yankees or the Red Sox. I was very unfortunate to be a young kid in NY when the Mets beat the Red Sox for the World Series...the Mets became my team and the Yankees my rival. Talk about choosing the wrong team! It would be like growing up in the mid-90s or so and choosing to root for CC over DU. Very short term decision and one that you will spend the rest of your life regreting.

Anyways, the angry Red Sox fan is clearly attempting to manipulate the only facts he can to support his claim that the Yankees suck...blah blah blah. Your argument fails sir.

And, coming from a DU fan, where we have so much pride in our great history, it's pretty ironic to discount the great history of the Yankees and try to make the argument about the last six years.

Is every team that has one a national championship in the last 5 years better than DU? Hell, is every team that has one a NCAA game in the last 5 years better than DU?
