Chambers Blog Reports DU's New Captains

Mike Chambers Blog has the inside scoop on the Captain and Assistant Captains for the 2010-11 DU hockey team.

DU also released their Official Schedule for next season. No major changes from what we had earlier except that it looks like the Denver Cup will have a "showcase format" like last season. DU will play Lake Superior State the first night and Air Force the following night.

This is great news, though not a big surprise. Kyle is a hard worker and has certainly earned this honor. Is it October yet???

Great choices. Guys like Ostrow and Martin are hard working and gritty. I hope that's the direction the club takes this next season.

Ha ha ha ha...correct-o-mundo, Cunningham! Why yes; they are the same two faggy girls who swept the Goofers and NoDik!

Nutini's play took a big leap forward last year. When he was missing from the line up, it was obvious (to me) that he was the glue that held the Defense together.

Why 2 exhibition games?

Good question. Guessing that exhibition games against the USNDT and Canadian schools are exempt from the NCAA mandated number of games that DU is allowed to play.

Obviously DU is recruiting more and more players from the USNDT and Denver fans will be interested is seeing (paying) to see a couple of DU recruits and future NHL stars.

So more money for DU, fun game for the hard core fans and good prep for the Vermont & BC series.

Who cares if there is another exhibition game. Just another hockey game to make me happy.

Happy most of the home games will be during the first half of the season. I'll probably be studying abroad the second half.

Funny you say that; I was just studying abroad here on my screen!!! :) Ahh yes; the age-old debate on pre-season games - in any sport. Great chance to let the puppys off the leash and go out for a romp and see what they can do. Lets the veterans stretch thier legs a little bit & get back in the groove, too. Of course the part nobody ever talks about is... what if someone gets hurt? then, EVERbody hates pre-season games when something happens like that.

I'd like to see Ssm & Adam each get 60 minutes that weekend

Jackson must be pushing 30 years old with all the time he spent in Juniors and now with the redshirt year added in. Reminds me of when "Grandpa Blake" played at UND into his late 20's. I guess you need the elderly to keep those whippersnappers in line :)

Great choices for leadership roles on the team. Guys that know the value of hard work and have the experience and maturity and can appreciate where they are after many long bus rides in juniors. I'm not worried about scoring goals next year because of the loss of some sharpshooters. My concern for next year is goaltending.

Does anyone have any idea what happened to Stephen Cunnigham? He was #10 a few years back as a freshman and it seems is no longer on the team.
