NCHC Releases Composite Hockey Schedule
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference released the league's composite hockey schedule.
The University of Denver will play non-conference games against the University of New Brunswick [exhibition], Merrimack [2 games], Niagara, Canisius & Brown at Magness Arena.
DU will play non-conference tilts against Alaska Fairbanks, Alaska Anchorage, Air Force & RPI [2 games] on the road.
The NCHC schedule will feature 24 games against league teams, down from the current 28 games in the WCHA.
DU will play home series' against UNO, Western Michigan, St. Cloud State, North Dakota & Miami-Ohio.
On the road DU will play Miami-Ohio, Minnesota-Duluth, St. Cloud State, Nebraska-Omaha, Western Michigan.
As usual DU will play two home and home series against NCHC foe Colorado College.

Colorado College released their hockey schedule yesterday, giving some more clues to DU's schedule.
The University of North Dakota's tentative upcoming schedule was published in Brad Schlossman's Blog.
Its unofficial, so don't book any travel plans yet, but here are some dates that have been published from other schools.

DU To Play North Dakota Four Times Next Season
The final year of the WCHA promises to be an exciting season for University of Denver ice hockey fans. Magness Arena will play host to some of the most storied programs in college hockey. North Dakota, Wisconsin, Boston University, Cornell, New Hampshire, Colorado College and Michigan Tech will visit DU. Counting DU's 7 National Chapionships, that's 30 previous National Championship winners.

DU's Future Schedules Include Pleasant Surprises
The Presidential Debate at Magness Arena [Oct. 3rd] may impact the hockey practice and exhibition schedule, but it remains to be seen if any regular season games have to be juggled.
Boston University will visit the Pioneers next season for in the U.S. Hall of Fame Game. DU hosted this event in 2008 against Notre Dame and the Hall of Fame Dinner the night before featured Bret Hull and several other USA hockey legends inductions. The dinner was hosted at on the floor of Magness Arena and it was an epic evening.
Cornell will visit DU for a two game series next season. This will be a rematch of the incredible 1969 National Championship Game played in the Broadmoor Arena in Colorado Springs featuring future NHL legends Ken Dryden, Keith Magnuson, Craig Patrick & George Morrison. DU won 4-3 on Tom Miller's goal with less than 10 minutes to play.

In a surprising development, Minnesota and Wisconsin are negotiating with DU to visit Denver every other season, while the Pioneers will return the visits in alternating years. It is exciting to hear that these rivalries will continue despite the departures from the WCHA. Minnesota and Wisconsin alums in Colorado will be thrilled to hear of this development.
Starting in 2013-14 DU will play the Air Force twice per season. This great rivalry has become very popular recently, so doubling the number of games against Air Force will be another positive scheduling move.
DU is in conversations with the Boston schools about continuing the cross-country rivalries.

Single game tickets for the 2011-12 Denver Pioneer hockey team went on sale Saturday. Single game tickets for the seven-time NCAA champion Pioneers start as low as $18.

DU's 2011-12 Scheduling Tidbits & Rumors
DU will host two exhibition games to open the 2011-12 season. DU will play the US National Development-Under 18 Team that will likely feature Jarrod Mermis' younger brother Dakota.
Like last season DU will play a Canadian university on the same weekend.
Then DU will travel to Boston the following weekend of Oct. 14-15 to play Boston College and Boston University.
Denver will play WCHA opponents Nebraska Omaha, Bemidji State & Colorado College in home and away series.
The Pioneers will host North Dakota, Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota State at Magness Arena.

Unlike many previous campaigns, DU's trip to Anchorage will be in January (27th & 28th).
Finally DU will travel to Wisconsin on Feb. 17-18. I believe the DU Hockey Alumni Association will Roadtrip to Madison that weekend.

Chambers Blog Reports DU's New Captains
Mike Chambers Blog has the inside scoop on the Captain and Assistant Captains for the 2010-11 DU hockey team.DU also released their Official Schedule for next season. No major changes from what we had earlier except that it looks like the Denver Cup will have a "showcase format" like last season. DU will play Lake Superior State the first night and Air Force the following night.

DU Hockey Hosts "Select-A-Seat" On Thurs & Fri
The Pioneer Hockey Select-A-Seat event will be held at Magness Arena on Thursday & Friday, June 25-26th (10 am-5 pm). Season tickets for the 2009-10 season go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Ticket packages begin at $176.
