[Martin Sent All DU Players Text Message On Friday]

Box Score
"A loud cheer, as well as tapping sticks on the ice from both teams, greeted the announcement of Jesse Martin’s name before the game as DU's 7th starter. Before the national anthem was played, the enthusiastic Denver student section chanted “Jesse Martin” and continued that chant periodically during the game and between periods."

Its not fair to the other teams in the WCHA that DU plays with six players AND Jesse Martin on every shift.

The refs awarded DU a Penalty Shot in the 3rd Period. The mere thought of Jason Zucker and Jesse Martin bearing down on the CC goaltender, was so unfair that Gwozdecky declined the Penalty Shot and opted for a two minute power play.

Leave it to the bozos at CHN to completely miss the (short) bus. From their game recap:

"CHN: Sophomore Drew Shore tallied a career-high three points and freshman Sam Brittain made 33 saves as No. 13 Denver defeated rival Colorado College. The Pioneers won their first game without Jesse Martin, who suffered a season-ending injury at North Dakota on Oct. 30, when his neck was broken in three places after a hard check. Malone was honored prior to the game...."

I gave up commenting back on all their errors long ago.

BTW I attended both games this weekend, and I'm glad for both fan bases that things turned out the way they did. I also agree that Gwoz made a good call on the penalty shot. No need to give CC a big lift if they stop it...better to control the puck, take time off the clock, and maybe get the PPG.

See y'all in Feb...Go Tigers!
