DU vs. 8th Place Gophers Message Board™

This weekend the University of Denver hockey team will face the largest collection of underachieving NHL Draft picks in North America. The Gophers have 19 NHL Draft picks on the roster including seven players taken in the first two rounds of the draft.

How they manage to trail both Alaska-Anchorage and Colorado College in the WCHA standings defies logic.

Sound off in the comments section below.

Don might want to consider updating his resume. I don't imagine that the AD or alumni are going to put up with under achievement for very much longer. Wasn't there a rumor last year that his job was on the line?

I wonder if we could say the same of Scott Owens.

Just wondering

Minnesota will have as many 1st round draft picks on the ice this weekend as DU has had selected in the 1st round all time (Redmond, Colborne & Bennett).

If Herb were still there, there wouldn't be 19 NHL draftees!

Another possible landing place for Gwaz.

Maybe it's time for Don to take the next step and move up to a superior program by going back to CC.

Based on how the Pioneers played in Colorado Springs - that big ice scares me. But with all the Alumni going, do you think they'll let Jesse come out on the ice during one of the timeouts with Boone?

DG- what sort of head count is there for the alumni weekend?

I'll try and find out from Rod Summers.

The "smugness" on this blog amazes me.

Just 10 months removed from Dg's infamous checklist/t-shirt/book mo-town campaign, logic would tell you that a large dose of humble-pie would be on the menu.

Short memory, I guess.

Keep it up and you'll be witness to another epic flame-out come post-season.

HEY, SLAPPY, GET BACK TO SUCKING YOUR BF'S NUTSACK WHILE HE FARTS ON YOU!!!!!!!

What are blogs for, numbnuts? To be fair, DG has toned it down this year from a DU perspective. Minnesota does suck this year though. Pretty undeniably, considering their talent level. How is identifying that "sumg?"

Enough of this bickering. What think you of the Gwozdecky goaltending plan for this series? Samuel Adam? Adam Samuel? Adam Adam? Samuel Samuel? Joshua Adam? Joshua Samuel? Joshua Joshua?

i would have to assume no combination with Joshua... otherwise, probably an Adam-Samuel combo

Smug? Moi?

Gwozdecky said in his press conference today that a decision on the goaltenders would be made on Thursday. Odds are that Chambers will have the scoop in his blog on Thursday evening or Friday morning.

He mentioned that he was pleased with both goaltenders last weekend, but that one of them had problems with "rebound control."

I am actually disappointed that DG has toned it down, I thought that blog post was funny and made my day. I am predicting a couple of 6-1 blow outs by the DU Pioneers this weekend.
