Very classy guys; they should be commended for their selflessness.

BUT.. they need to go DOWN!

Tell Gideon that DU will win the National Championship for him.

Man stuff like that really tugs at the heart strings. Good luck to the lil guy. Further proof that hockey has great people around the game. Good on ya WMU.

Wow....so awesome. I agree, I still hope for the WMU Broncos to go down. However, if they manage to win, it wouldn't feel nearly as bad after seeing how caring these guys are. That said, it ain't gonna happen...but Gideon can take solace in knowing they got took down by the eventual 2011 NCAA Champions.

However, hockey is just a game and, no matter what, the true champions are the Gideons of the world. Stay up and good luck, college hockey fans from Denver to Kalamazoo to Whereverazoo will be pulling for you...

This is what I personally love about college hockey -- the camaraderie amongst the community is mostly second-to-none, from my experiences.

Thanks for all of the love, DU. Good luck to you in GB. Of course our family will be rooting for our personal heroes, the Western Broncos, but it is wonderful to read what great hearts all of you collegiate hockey fans possess.

Don't be too upset when Western wins, there's just a ton of positive karma gushing out of every player on that team. There's no way they can't win. I think you can understand my devotion to these guys.

I'm excited to see how this game pans out, and it will be great knowing that you fans are some good people, too. We'll be sitting next you in Green Bay.

Best to you!
Amanda (Gideon and Brody's mom)

Awesome story! Go Gideon!

Reminds me a lot of the players at UND, except for the fact that UND players are terrible people who would never do anything like this because they're too busy getting DUI's, pissing in elevators, and getting arrested.

Go WMU!

Wow.... had to wait for the tears to stop before typing this. I now have a new 2nd favorite hockey team. Well done, Broncos. Way to step up and do the right thing.

To Gideon, Brody, Amanda and the rest of the family, God bless you in your journey. Know that the hearts and prayers of Denver are with you.

Me too.

Go Broncos & Go Pios (but, Go Pios just a little more than Go Broncos)

Ya know what, this is one of those stories that you can tell that whole team is a bunch of stand up individuals. I want to see DU take them to the cleaners, don't get me wrong, but if the worst should happen and WMU steals it, I'll feel a lot better knowing it's a bunch of real hard working guys that did it who all appear to have huge hearts. Not like a team like NoDak who just don't seem like good guys, the players for WMU seem like really just plain out classy folks. Big ups to that program, very cool what they did for this family.

GO DU!
